Designed Strictly For Racing: The secret behind 16 volts is the performance advantage gained from the hotter spark produced by the higher battery voltage! The "V" 16 Volt Racing Battery is designed to provide extra voltage to the ignition systems used in racing. Its design provides an additional 4 volts over the conventional 12 volt battery system. The 3 Post battery is recommended if you are going to be using a 12 volt alternator. Since a 12 volt alternator will not charge a 16 volt battery it is also recommended to run a boost box with a 12 volt alternator and a 3 post battery. If you are not going to be running a 12 volt alternator then it is recommended to use the 2 post battery system. The "V" 16 volt AGM battery fits in most Group 24, Group 74, Group 34, Group 78, Group 27 and Group 31 battery tray set-ups. This battery is a drop in for mounting situations that accepted the TurboStart 16 volt racing battery. This 16 volt AGM battery features a bolt-in terminal design allowing the use of an eyelet style lug terminal at the battery connection. A set of 3/8-16 threaded brass SAE style positive and negative battery posts are also included with the battery for those users who wish to use an SAE top post battery terminal. Voltage Boost Box: The Voltage Booster Box is a voltage booster charging adapter which is use with the 3 post battery and a 12 volt alternator. The Booster Box is a switch mode voltage booster using high frequency power conversion to increase the output from a standard 12 volt alternator to fully recharge the 8 cells of the 16 volt battery. The Boost Box will switch on automatically when the 12 volt section of the battery is being charged by the alternator and will convert a portion of the charge power to charge the additional 2 cells of the 16 volt battery. By using this device you will be able to use a 12 volt alternator to charge both the 12 volt and 16 volt sides of the battery. 16 Volt Battery Chargers: All of our racing 16 volt battery chargers which are 25 amps are fully automatic and will not over charge your 16 volt batteries when they reach full charge. These chargers are designed to work with either the AGM battery or the Flooded Acid type battery. They will detect the type of battery and charge it correctly. We have a 16 volt 25 amp charger and a dual 12 and 16 volt 25 amp charger. These charges are made in the USA and are so good that they are backed by a 3 year warranty. Only 16 volt chargers for AGM batteries are to be use on our 16 volt batteries. D0 NOT use any charger designed for a wet cell lead acid battery. Using an improper charger may damage the battery and may void the warranty.
