Designed Strictly For Racing: The secret behind 16 volts is the performance advantage gained from the hotter spark produced by the higher battery voltage!
The PowerMaster 16 Volt Racing Battery is designed to provide extra voltage to the ignition systems used in racing. Its design provides an additional 4 volts
over the conventional 12 volt battery system. The 2 Post system eliminates the need to run an alternator in Drag Racing and Short Track Oval Racing. A PowerMaster
16 Volt Racing Battery produces 16.9 volts WITHOUT an alternator which exceeds the output of a 12 volt battery WITH an alternator! A Step Down Voltage Resistor is
available for reducing the voltage to any desired 12 volt components.
16 Volt Battery: The PowerMaster 16 volt AGM battery is housed in an industrial ABS case that is stiffer and more durable then conventional polypropylene.
Not only is it more abrasion resistant but also the stiffer case helps to eliminate damage due to vibration and allows more reliable operation of the venting valves.
The AGM battery can be mounted and operated in any position because the safety vent valves allow gasses to pass but seal any liquids inside the battery.
The Powermaster 16 volt AGM battery fits in most Group 24, Group 74, Group 34, Group 78, Group 27 and Group 31 battery tray set-ups. This PowerMaster battery is
a drop in for mounting situations that accepted the TurboStart 16 volt racing battery. The PowerMaster 16 volt AGM battery features a bolt-in terminal design
allowing the use of an eyelet style lug terminal at the battery connection. A set of 3/8-16 threaded brass SAE style positive and negative battery posts are also included
with the battery for those users who wish to use an SAE top post battery terminal.
Voltage Step-Down Resister: When using a 16 volt battery in longer races which require an alternator, it is recommended that sensitive 12 volt components be resistered
using the Voltaage Step Down Resister. The nice feature of our Voltage Step-Down Resister is the Dual Output. It has one input and two outputs. Vehicles without alternators should use
the 2.4V reduction output (16.9V - 2.4V = 14.5V) and vehicles with a 16 volt alternator should use the 3.6V reduction output (18.9V - 3.6V = 15.3V). The step-down module is rated 50A max
at a 50% duty cycle and 25A continuous when using the 3.6V output.
16 Volt Battery Chargers: All of our racing 16 volt battery chargers which are 20 or 25 amps are fully automatic and will not over charge your 16 volt batteries when they
reach full charge. These chargers are designed to work with the AGM 16 volt battery. We have a 16 volt 20 amp charger, 16 volt 25 amp charger and a dual 12 and 16 volt 25 amp charger.
These chargers carry a 1 or 3 year warranty depending on the charger. Only 16 volt chargers for AGM batteries are to be use on our 16 volt batteries. D0 NOT use any charger designed
for a wet cell lead acid battery. Using an improper charger may damage the battery and may void the warranty.
